Self-guided visits Teachers may choose to lead their own Museum visits. This occurs from 10:30 daily. Bookings are essential for self guided visits to ensure the gallerys or exhibitions you require are available. Bookings and charges All self-guided groups must be booked in advance to ensure access to requested galleries. Learn more about our bookings and charges. There is no charge for adults who accompany self-guided school groups if they are there in a supervisory role. However this does not apply to the Māori Cultural Performance. Timing We recommend 30-60 minutes per gallery for self guided groups. It is essential that you adhere to the booking times and booked venues as early or late arrival will affect the quality of your visit and the visits of other booked groups. Sessions Most sessions have a maximum capacity of 30 students but sessions in Te Kākano, the Armoury and Museum Library accommodate groups of no more than 15 students at a time. Session limits may vary according to the activity.
