Special needs at Auckland Museum
Auckland Museum is committed to providing educational opportunities for learners with special needs. Our education programmes involve sensory learning experiences where students have hands on experiences with our collections.
Our education team welcome the opportunity to work with teachers and teacher aids to best cater to student needs.
Pre visit/ one-to-one session with individual students. Taking the unknown out of a visit, setting up expectations and discovering student interests.
Pre visit/ joint planning with teachers of special needs classes. Under the guidance of the teacher in charge, we work to adapted current education offerings for vision impaired, hearing impaired and specialist learning centres.
Choose one of our school programmes, follow the book now process and under the special requirements section indicate Special Needs or Student Pre visit and an educator will be in contact to discuss further.
