Ancient Egypt and early Māori
Students take on the role of archaeologists to focus on two different civilisations: ancient Egyptian and early Māori.
In this one-hour lesson students will:
carefully examine the Museum's handling collection of objects and replicas to learn more about what life was like in ancient times
unpack the themes of culture, beliefs, tools and technology
discover how societies develop over time to reflect their values and needs
learn how people from ancient cultures made sense of the world around them.
Students will exercise their curiosity, knowledge and problem-solving abilities with hands-on experiences, feedback and questioning.
