Nga Remu Huia Tahuparae Museum Programme Coordinator Nga Remu Tahuparae© Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Paenga Hira. Initially recruited as Public Event Coordinator in 2011, Nga Remu’s role has evolved to reflect the increasing focus on education in the Museum’s programming. As Museum Programme Coordinator, she coordinates, administrates and supports the Learning and Engagement programmes, with an emphasis on those that are delivered in the Outreach space. “I have been blessed with working with a truly inspiring and creative team who can take any topic and turn it into an educational and FUN experience. My life at Auckland Museum is full of variety and adventure – I love it!” Favourite artefact: Perepere “Perepere is a carving from Putiki, Whanganui. It was found in a kumara storage pit. My iwi are Ngati Rangi and Whanganui, so I feel a real connection when I see any artefacts from the Whanganui area. This one is particularly special, because Putiki is where my Dad grew up and where he now rests." E rere kau mai te awa nui nei Mai i te kahui maunga ki Tangaroa Ko au te awa Ko awa ko au.
