Objects define a culture – a music collection or wardrobe can define an individual – but has the pursuit of objects put us at social and economic risk?
Thursday, 7 May
LATE 04: I Am What I Own investigates how our material side – from a music collection to a wardrobe – informs our identity. The evening’s panel discussion, moderated by Finlay Macdonald, features broadcaster Carol Hirschfeld; music writer Nick Bollinger; designer Dean Poole; art professor Jonathan Mane-Wheoki; and director of Oxfam Barry Coates.
There will also be a showcase by award-wining fashion designer Cybele, and performances by DJ Submariner, Lisa Crawley and Nathan Haines.
Food and a cash bar will be available. Please enter via the southern atrium entrance.
