 Archaeology

Explore everyday life and death in Ancient times

Learn the secrets that Ta-Sedgemet can tell us about life and death in Ancient Egypt.

What do we know about life in Ancient times in Mesopotamia or Harappa? How do we know this? How did Vikings iron their clothes and what did Ancient Egyptians eat with their beer?

Archaeologists’ work is key to much of what we display at the museum and much of what we know about communities in the past. This programme puts learners into the role of archaeologists.  As such they learn to carefully examine  the museum's handling collection of objects and replicas from a range of different civilisations and to exercise their curiosity, knowledge and problem solving.

This programme is assisted by LEOTC, funded by the Ministry of Education.
