Auckland Museum Guided Tours

Our expert guides take you through the galleries and describe some of our most important collections, taonga (treasures), objects and specimens with fascinating histories and stories.

You will explore our pre-eminent collection of Maori and Pacific material culture, our unique natural environment, and the conflicts that helped shape New Zealand into what it is today.

One of our greatest treasures is the building itself, one of New Zealand’s finest heritage buildings. Learn about its architecture, significance and decorative elements.

Our guides are extensively trained and accredited by the Museum, and they volunteer to share their special knowledge and passion for the Museum and its collections with our visitors.

Tours are available three times a day and last one hour.
