The Museum’s Natural History Information Centre can be found in the Origins Gallery, on the first floor. The centre provides the visitor with the opportunity to find out more about the Museum’s natural history exhibits, collections and databases as well as New Zealand’s unique natural environment.
Te Kakano Te Kakano
Te Kakano is the name of the Pacific People Information Centre located in the west wing of the Maori Gallery. Te Kakano provides visitors with electronic access to information regarding the Museum’s extensive Maori and Pacific collections. It seeks to strengthen the link between Maori and Pacific people and their cultural heritage.

Library Catalogue Library Catalogue
The Library Catalogue is a good starting point to see what books, pamphlets, and recent serials are held in the Museum Library. All of the manuscripts (e.g. letters, personal papers, diaries) and archives (e.g. business and organisation records), and some of the ephemera, maps and pictorial collections are also included.
Streets Streets
In the Auckland region (between Wellsford and Pukekohe) there are nearly 12,000 streets, etc. which are all recorded here. The database will include background about their origin, people, buildings and events that are part of their story. The content is based on resources of Auckland Museum with assistance from the region’s local authorities, historical societies, museums and libraries.
