The Auckland Museum Institute operates Friends of the Auckland Museum® giving members the best of both worlds;an opportunity to support the Museum and enjoy the benefits of Museum membership and also links to the Royal Society of New Zealand. The Institute is the Auckland Branch of the RSNZ and so members also enjoy a programme of lectures, field trips, and discussions such as the popular Cafe Scientifique as well as exhibition previews and behind-the-scenes experiences.
