EDUCATION

Auckland Museum staff have selected a small number of objects that introduce or illustrate major themes from the exhibition. Each one has a small number of questions associated with it. The pages are printable and can be edited quite readily to meet the needs of different age groups. Students can create their own questions and insert them.

Ministry of Education Resources

New Zealand Ministry of Education Resources are available in languages other than English. These two books were written by Damon Salesa and produced by the Ministry of Education. They were sent by Learning Media to Secondary schools, addressed to HOD Science. They are currently out of print in English but copies are available from Learning Media in Maori, Cook Island Maori, Niuean, Samoan, Tokelauan and Tongan. They provide a very engaging and useful introduction to the Vaka Moana exhibition and its major themes. Click here for Learning Media.
