Volume South at MIT is the South Auckland edition of our homegrown exhibition about making music in Aotearoa. Fed by street culture, church choirs, R&B clubs and hip-hop, the story of South Auckland music is an explosive mix of hustle, talent and originality.

Volume South at MIT champions the artists and scenes that represent Southside pride. Emerging talent is featured alongside the early trailblazers including Urban Pacifika Records, the Fuemana family, Dawn Raid Entertainment and Ōtara Music Arts Centre, which had a key role in cultivating local artists.

This is our second offsite exhibition in partnership with Manukau Institute of Technology at MIT’s Manukau Campus. Volume South at MIT has been developed with the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame Trust (APRA AMCOS and Recorded Music NZ).
