OFFSITE, FRESH GALLERY ŌTARA
A showcase of women artists presenting an alternative Māori narrative to the suffrage movement.
Māori women were an integral part of the suffrage movement, yet their stories are less prominent in historical accounts. Mana Wahine acknowledges the strength of Māori women and their mana within te ao Māori.
This event is part of Auckland Council’s special programme to commemorate 125 years of women’s suffrage in Aotearoa. More information.
