For 20 years, Jackie was a kindergarten teacher in South Auckland. She fell into helping a wee Refuge into getting what they needed, and ended up building a whole system of support for the women in that community, bringing joy and dignity.
She gave up teaching, sold her house, and is now running her organisation, The Aunties, fulltime. She works with almost 300 women a year one on one, and with social workers from seven different organisations.
Her belief is that she is simply there to offer support with whatever people say they need.
Meeting needs, where ever they are, whatever they are - with love.
