Nisha Madhan is a performer and director of contemporary theatre. She has toured internationally with Theatre Beating and Indian Ink. Her company, The Town Centre has produced many works including LIES, TITLED, and What Have You Done to Me? which toured to Finland. Her work receives consistent critical acclaim, often nominated for Original Production at Fringe, Auckland & Wellington Theatre Awards.
She made Power Ballad with Julia Croft which won several Auckland Fringe awards, the Melbourne Arts Festival Discovery award and was nominated for the prestigious TOTAL theatre award in Edinburgh. She made Grand Opening with Jo Randerson at The Civic by Barbarian Productions, and in 2018 will make Medusa with Julia Croft & Virginia Frankovich.
She is part of a 3 year arts residency curated by The Basement (NZ), Forest Fringe (UK) & West Kowloon Cultural District (HK) and her writing will be published for the first time in Undisciplining Dance in 9 Movements by Cambridge University Press.
