Amid the turbulence of modern life the mortals have truly wrested control of the big issues away from the Gods.
Renown photographer Robin Morrison somehow managed to pause this turbulence when he captured these quintessentially “Kiwi” photographs over the 70’s and 80’s. These collection images are the cornerstone of the Museum’s pictorial collection and in 2013 have served as inspiration for this, the sixth annual LATE AT THE MUSEUM.

Late favourites Warren Maxwell and Don McGlashan appeared along with Opossom, Babyshakes, Orchestra of Spheres and others.
An interesting lens to start from for ‘War and Violence’ is those powerful figures of Greek mythology – Athena and Ares. Often lumped together they were quite different – one known for her heroic endeavour, and the other known for his love of war.Read more
