Join us for a sensory-friendly session for families with children on the the autism spectrum, or who struggle to communicate, or become easily overwhelmed by stimuli.
Our trained visitor hosts will welcome your family to Quiet Hour. There will be less visitors, no soundscape, and the addition of a chill-out zone to take a break. We’ll also have an optional activity sheet for those that want a more structured experience.
To support your visit we have prepared a social script for this exhibition so you can plan ahead and know what to expect in the exhibition - click on the image below to download the PDF:
Feel free to bring a comfort item, noise cancelling headphones, or sunglasses to make your visit more comfortable.
Please note: this session is prior to normal opening hours.
Please enter the museum from the Southern Atrium where a visitor host will direct you to the exhibition.
The museum will open to the public at 10 am, if you want to avoid the crowds please ensure sure you depart by 9.45 am.
