    Born Dunedin 11 November 1918
    RNZAF 9 November 1941 - 21 January 1946; Pilot
    Citation Distinguished Flying Medal: (18th August 1943) [150 Sqn RAF] (Wellington) This airman has flown on operations over Tunisia and Italy. An outstanding pilot and captain of aircraft he has invariably pressed home his attacks with great determination, courage and coolness.
    Flt Lt Smith flew 46 sorties during his first tour with the 150 Sqn.
    He then served as an instructor with the 17 OTU RAF (Wellington) for 18 months before joining 162 Sqn RAF (Mosquito) in March 1945, and flying a further 16 sorties. Died Brisbane, Australia, c.1984.
