  • My Dad , my hero. Born Hohepa Aperahama Pokaihau on the 4th November 1917 died 10th June 1988. Married to my lovely mum Rihi Tarawa.
He often sat and told me stories of his travels whilst fighting overseas. I loved sitting there listening to him.
I have so many memories of this beautiful gentle man who raised 9 children and 20+ grandchildren. I am so privileged to have had such an inspiring mentor. I hope I have made you proud. Love you always and forever. xx

  • Very humble man to his family, who never spoke of his time at war. Much loved by his wife Rihi Tarawa Te Whata ( I am her namesake) and the children. Missed but never forgotten Nanny Pa
