    Departed Alofi, Niue Island on 14 October 1915 on board SS Te Anau. (Pointer 2000, p. 13)
    Arrived Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand on 19 October 1915 (Pointer 2000, p. 18).
    Sailed from Port Said, Egypt, to Marseilles, France, on board SS Canada on 9 April 1916. (Pointer 2000, p. 172)

    " ... Niue Islanders had been converted to Christianity by missionaries of the Congregational Church and so a Congregational minister was brought in to conduct the service at St Andrew's. The same minister, the Reverend J. Benson Evans, was back in the church the following day to conduct the service for 16/1132 Private Taleva of Tamakautoga who had died of pneumonia on 12 June, also at the depot hospital." (Pointer 2000, p. 50)

    Private Taleva was buried on 14 June 1916. Because of a shortage of space in the churchyard, he lies in a shared grave with Private Filitoua. (Pointer 2000, p. 183 n16)
