  • Sergeant Watt was killed when he triggered a booby trap and incurred multiple fragment wounds.

    He was first buried at Ulu Pandan, Singapore, later exhumed and cremated and his ashes returned to New Zealand. His Memorial Flag was presented to his widow.

    Sergeant Watt's widow, Mrs Gael Keighley of New Plymouth, received the New Zealand Operational Service Medal on his behalf from the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence at a presentation at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on Thursday 27 November 2003. AWMM
