  • Daniel Brown was the son of Alexander and Laura Brown, of Milton, New Zealand.

    Joined unit, Sarpi Camp.
    Reverted to the ranks, Lemnos, 1 October 1915.
    Disembarked Alexandria, 27 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Appointed Lance Corporal, Moascar, 20 March 1916, and transferred to NZ Field Artillery.
    Embarked for France, 6 April 1916.
    Wounded in action, 14 July 1916 (multiple shell wounds, left thigh, chest and abdomen), admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, and transferred to 8th Casualty Clearing Station.
    Died of wounds, 15 July 1916.
