      London Gazette, 4 January 1917, p262, Rec No 343:This officer had performed conspicuous good work since the arrival of this Battalion in France last April in training Battalion Signallers. On the 13th and 16th September during the operations around Flers by his untiring energy and personal example, and in spite of heavy fire, he maintained communication between his Advanced Battalion Headquarters and brigade Headquarters. He was killed on the 21st September. AWMM
