    • Cholera Public - Dennis Michael - Other Relative - 28 April 2015 - I am told by my mother, that her mother (who was Robert's neice) told her that Robert died of cholera on the ship going over to the war. I do not know how this news was related to my grandmother, but can only assume that after the war, someone let them know the cause of Roberts death.

  • Robert Cargill was my great great uncle (i.e. my grandmothers fathers brother). My grandmother was involved in my and my siblings lives, but never talked about her father or his brothers. This year 2015, is the first year that we have discovered that Robert and his brother William served and died in WW1. I am glad that now we can say we "Remember Them", for their service to King and Country, and for their sacrifice.
