  • Norman Lovelock was the son of David J. and Anna Lovelock, of Palmerston North; husband of Nancye Lovelock, of Paeroa.

    Was supervisor at the Native Dept in Kaikohe.

    Educated at Palmerston North High School and Ruakura Agricultural College.

    Volunteered in August 1940 and was commissioned as an officer in 1941. After serving in Northland he volunteered to go overseas in June 1943 relinquishing his commission to do so.

    After serving in the Middle East he fought with the NZ Armoured formation in Italy.

    Born in Palmerston North, Sgt Lovelock was the son of Mr and Mrs David J. Lovelock. His wife was Mrs N Lovelock and he had a son, David.
