  • Oscar Anderson was the son of Mrs. H. Segren, (formerly Anderson), of North Road, Palmerston North.

    Served with the Scottish Horse in the Anglo-Boer War for 18 months.

    Present at Coronation 1902 with Scottish Horse contingent.

    Returned to South Africa and served with Repatriation Department until end of war.

    Supplied horses to German authorities in Southwest Africa and returned to NZ 1908.

    Popular member of Manawatu Hunt.

    Killed on Chunuk Bair during the August Offensive.

    Typo on the Nominal Roll named spelled as Fredrick AWMM
