  • Thomas Arthur Blyth went to Wanganui Boys' High School, where he was a swimming champion and prominent oarsman.

    As a Rugby player and administrator he was well known. From 1902 to 1904 he represented Taranaki as a full-back, and when in Ohakune he helped to form the Ruapehu Sub-Union as well as the King Country Union. He was later, at different times, selector, president, coach, and a delegate to the N.Z. Rugby Union.

    Lance Corporal Blyth's was a varied career of service. By profession he was a school teacer. He was appointed head master of the Ohakune District High School in 1909.

    He was on the Ohakune Town Board from 1911-1913, and was created a J.P. in 1925 (from the New Zealand Alpine Journal, Vol.VIII, No.27, June 1940). AWMM
