  • Fred was mentioned in General Sir Chas Munro's despatches on 11 July 1916 for distinguished and gallant service in the field.
    Public - Paul - Researcher - 24 February 2015
  • As Fred's grandson I am very proud in this centenary year of Gallipoli to say that a member of our family contributed to the winning of WW1. Fred never spoke of the war to any of the family so we don't know alot about his time overseas but I do know that he was very proud of the fact that he did serve.
    Public - Hadyn Hugh Ellis - Other Relative - 3 February 2015
