  • Charles was born in New Zealand on 11 August 1890 and died in London On 3 March 1966. He was married to Winifred Agnes Norwell in London on 29 December 1917. Their daughter Thelma was born in Auckland on 31 May 1919. During the First World War Charles served in Egypt, Gallipoli and France. He was discharged on 20 January 1920 after undertaking 5 years 159 days military duty. Charles was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1941.
