He passed away 17/12/1973. During his lifetime and two marriages he fathered six children, five sons and a daughter. I am the first born child of his first born, Richard (Dick) Nelson Heather. My own Dad, Dick, has recently passed away (Oct2015) and family history is currently on our minds. On Anzac Day 2015 Poppa, your youngest son, David, was honoured to wear your NZ and Aust Dress Medals at the North West Rocks (NSW) dawn Service and one of your daughter's children, Noel, wore the second set of your NZ and Aust medals at the March in Wellington NZ. We are all so proud of your lifetime achievements, not just your war efforts. Loved and missed by many.
