    Hughes, Oswald Pennington (Regtl No. 11/1715, Cpl., Wellington Mounted Rifles, WW1). On June 8, 1971, at Whangarei, dearly loved husband of Janet (123 Kiripaka Rd, Whangarei) and loved father of Elma (Mrs Bill Nash, Whangarei) and Hugh (Kerepehi), loved brother of Kathleen Phillips (Potter Memorial Home, Whangarei), loved granddad of Derek and Maureen Nash, and Kareyn (Mrs Arthur Yeates, Houhora) and Klaine (Mrs Ian Clark, Inglewood) and great-granddad of Yvette Symon and Natasha Yeates and Tonia Clark; in his 80th year. At rest. A service will be held St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hunt St, Whangarei, at 1pm on Thursday, funeral leaving afterwards for the Maunu Servicemen’s Lawn Cemetery.
