  • William Pringle Brunton was my grandfather. He was born in 1895 at Ashburton, New Zealand, and died in 1945 of lung cancer as a consequence of being gassed in the trenches. He migrated to Australia from New Zealand after returning from WW1. He never returned to NZ. In Sydney he was known as 'Perce'. He met and married my grandmother, Vera Lillian Henry, in Sydney. My father , William Pringle Brunton jr was born 29/11/1929. Their second son, Donald John Brunton was born on 25/11/1934. Grandfather was a cabinet maker by trade and worked for O'Brien's.
