Note
Ian Jamieson Bell was my mother's younger brother, he enlisted with First Echelon 2NZEF in 1940 as a Driver with the NZASC attached to 4th Field Ambulance. He was apparently wounded in Egypt and invalided home in 1941 - dying of wounds on Nov 29, 1941, aged 30. He is buried in the Soldiers Section of Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland and commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. I have some photographs of him taken before he embarked and in Egypt and also his medals and Memorial Cross, which were in my Grandmothers' possession. I am also named after him.
