Note
Fred was my mother's uncle, my great uncle. I only met him once and that was back in the 1960's when I was on honeymoon and called in to Kohukohu to visit all my Ferguson and associated relations.
Fred was a lovely man, as they all were. I recall Fred disappearing into the habour mangroves one day and my aunty Hazel (one of Fred's sisters) told me he would be getting into the mangrove oysters and then off for a moi. (Sleep)
My roots go back to Elizabeth Leef and James Ferguson. I am proud of my Ngapuhi blood line, albeit a bit thin by the time I got it.
