LATE at Auckland Museum

LATE at Auckland Museum

Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira

Aotearoa New Zealand has a wonderful heritage of strong female pop, rock and R‘n’B musicians from the Yandall Sisters to Shona Laing to Ladi 6 to Lorde. What have they been up against in order to make it? How have they turned challenge into success? How many more wonderful musicians could New Zealand celebrate if we lead the international industry in challenging sexism in music?

This LATE will celebrate strong female musicians, explore future visions for the music industry and discuss local solutions to global cultures of sexism.

Moderated by comedian Rose Matafeo, who'll be joined by panelists Ladi6, Dianne Swann, Geneva Alexander-Marsters and Jessie Moss

Entertainment: Bic Runga

We are very excited to reveal the musical guest for this panel is the inimitable music icon Bic Runga. Bic has spent the last many months preparing for her 20th Anniversary of Drive tour, the celebration of 20 years of achievement in New Zealand, and abroad. We are delighted that Bic has made time in her tour schedule to perform at this LATE, which she views as a celebration of all women in the music industry.

Bic will perform an acoustic set in the Museum’s beautiful Grand Foyer of her hits and songs from her recent album Close Your Eyes, featuring the Silver Scroll nominated song of the same name. Get your ticket now for this rare chance to see this legendary musician in an intimate setting at Auckland Museum, as part of LATE: Sing it Sister.
