Lantern Festival Celebrations 元宵节灯会
Celebrate Chinese New Year at Auckland Museum as we stay open until 9pm during the weekend of the Lantern Festival. We've got two days of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including games, music, facepainting, arts and crafts.
Discover the dynamic stories of Chinese life in New Zealand in Being Chinese in Aotearoa: A photographic journey, a brand new exhibition celebrating 175-years of Chinese New Zealanders. Over 100 compelling and rarely-seen photographs will be on display alongside a new series of contemporary artworks created by graphic artist Ant Sang and writer Helene Wong.
Road closures and car parking
Road closures will be in effect around the Musuem during the Lantern Festival and our car park will be closed. Please check out our Getting here and parking page for information on public transport options.
