Under the surface of the dry unpenetrable code understood only by the initiated, the language of the chemist contains a fascinating insight into mankind through the ages.

The Royal Society of New Zealand presents this talk based around the composition of everyday shampoo. Explore the strange history behind the names of the ingredients and you will never look at shampoo in quite the same way again!
