Celebrating the people and places of this diverse community, Taku Tāmaki – Auckland Stories South is the first Auckland Museum exhibition to be held in South Auckland.
We light up the Museum to celebrate or commemorate occasions of regional, national and international significance. Check out some of the recent events we've marked.
Celebrate local music-makers, young and old, in conjunction with Volume: Making Music in Aotearoa at Auckland Museum, the largest-ever exhibition about New Zealand music.
February will feature the unique sounds of kiwi duo Alae, the velvet voice of singer-songwriter Seth Haapu and critically acclaimed singer Iva Lamkum.
March will feature the Latin swings and pop ties of Rubita’s modern-day take on jazz, the sounds of dynamic live performer Helen Corry and epic South Auckland artists Vallkyrie.
