Illuminate 2017: New Zealanders on the Western Front

Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Paenga Hira.

Bring a blanket and sit under the stars to view rarely seen footage from the Western Front projected onto Auckland Museum.

As well as footage from the front line, watch the first ever conscription ballot take place, follow the work of the medical corps, and even view footage from an All Blacks rugby team playing France during wartime.

Event Information

  • Illuminate is an outdoor event so plan accordingly – bringing wet weather gear is advised.
  • While standard lighting will be on, it is advisable to bring a torch to help with visibility around the building.
  • In the event Illuminate is cancelled, a decision will be made by 4.30PM and posted here and AM/Facebook.
