Our Annual Plan for FY 2022/23 represents the final phase of our Five-Year Strategic Plan 2017-2022, which will see the Museum firmly focused on completing the final delivery of its key strategic priorities.

We've recently received the Qualmark Covid Clean Approval. This approval is bestowed by independent tourism assessors Qualmark, indicating Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland Museum is implementing health and hygiene measures to help protect against COVID-19, in accordance with government guidelines.
Our Annual Review for the 2020/2021 Financial Year is available now. Despite the challenges that COVID-19 presented, it has been a year of significant achievement for Auckland Museum, with strong local visitation.
We're honoured to have been awarded a Qualmark Gold Award, for the third year running. This award is the highest honour bestowed by independent tourism assessors Qualmark, indicating Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland Museum as meeting the highest standards for tourism in New Zealand.
We're working closely with Aotearoa's Pasifika communities to promote culture through language. In these pages, you can explore collection objects, read interviews, look at artworks, watch videos, and learn some words, too.
Co-edited by Associate Curator (History) Gail Romano with Prof Kingsley Baird (Massey University), this edition of the Bulletin of the Auckland Museum explores some of the legacies of 1917 – a remarkable single year during the First World War.

As part of our sustainability strategy, we are committed to raising awareness about the importance of preserving our climate through our public experience, exhibitions, education and activities. To realise this vision, we've laid out our pathway in our new three-year Sustainability Action Plan.
Last week I was honoured to join Minister Kiri Allan, Department of Conservation officials and MPs Chloe Swarbrick and Helen White on Ōtata, where members of our Natural Sciences and Archaeology teams have been working with the Noises Charitable Trust and the University of Auckland to research, conserve and enhance the islands’ unique ecological system.
Peter the very rare real T. rex has arrived, and it's fair to say Auckland is thrilled to welcome our pre-historic guest. Visitation over the Easter weekend was the highest for the past nine years we have data. As we round the Covid-19 corner, it's wonderful to see the Museum buzzing with excitement once more.
We're thrilled to announce that Te Ao Mārama has been recognised by the New Zealand Institute of Architects at their annual New Zealand Architecture Awards, winning acclaim in three categories: Public Architecture, Heritage and Hospitality.
