Auckland Museum’s Annual Plan describes how it plans to deliver world-class experiences for Aucklanders and visitors to the city over the financial year from 1 July 2020 – 30 June 2021.
Tāmaki Paenga Hira has reviewed and adjusted planning to respond to the significantly changed funding and operating environment caused by COVID-19. The Museum has responded to take the necessary steps to address the new financial reality. With a loss of self-generated revenue due to the absence of the international tourism market, our operational cost base for FY 2020/21 has been reduced by 19% ($8.3 million), projects have been deferred and our programmes adjusted, resulting in a net deficit of $3 million.
