    In this post-liberation decade women have more options available than any other preceding generation. We can live well, love wisely and learn widely. It's a great time for women to be alive. We'll reflect that feeling, and work to produce a magazine which centres its values on intelligence, warmth and good humour.

    This decade is the age of the mature woman - aware of the possibilities life offers, smart enough to decide how she's going to live and secure enough to find contentment in her choice. She's seen the best and worst feminism can offer. She knows now that marriage and motherhood and careers can all be fulfilling, but bring problems which have to be worked through.'-- Editorial, page 7, Issue 1.
