Cultivated specimen tree c. 12 x 12 m and double trunked. Cone scales rather prickly for this species (Pinus radiata x P. muricata?). The plaque at the foot of this tree [later stolen] reads: "This tree was planted by Lt Colonel Cyril Bassett VC on Anzac Day 25 April 1956. Seedling from Lone Pine Ridge Gallipoli". Clearly this one is not from Turkey. Cones in cone collection (AK 221637), foliage (AK 221636)
