    Nazca

  • Description

    pot, ceramic, Nazca (?fake?). Spherical lower body with straight inward tapering long sides, flat base. No neck, rim rounded. Exterior is a cream glaze with red, black and white figures around two-thirds of the pot. Image represents two heads, one on top of the other with a hand out to one side, holding a knife or dagger. On the other side is an elongated 'body' with 3 faces enclosed. The "body" has 2 legs and a tail.

    Red, black and cream stripes around the outside of the rim. Previously broken and repaired with a fragment missing from the lower body. Peru
