  • Description

    Fao'a. Stone adze. This Fao'a (adze) is worked from dark grey volcanic ofa'i (stone) but has been broken at the middle and missing the tang. The Fao'a is triangular in section with a steep bevel, chipped cutting edge, and sides left flaked. White marks are visible at the apex of the bevel surface. The blade is polished.
