    Regarding the potential purchase of 25,000 acres in partnership with James, and their intention to invest in sheep. He then asks Williams to pay some bills on his behalf and enclosed the necessary cheques. Samuel then briefly notes: "I sincerely hope that the disturbance amongst the Natives is likely to terminate without them coming to blows. There has been much ill feeling established on both sides, but the tone is now becoming much milder.

    " 'McLean's' judgements on the matter of land are then commended by Williams, and he states that "Te Moana" had requested his advice on the matter.
