    Throwing Stone (English)

  • Description

    Maka tau. Throwing stone. This is a maka tau and would have been used in war as a throwing weapon. In combat, it would be thrown at the enemy from as far away a distance as four meters. This maka tau is ovoid or egg-shaped and has a prominent groove running around its circumference. It has dark grey, light grey, and brown-coloured patches and its entire surface is speckled with white. Its exterior is roughly textured, grainy and is covered with abrasions and markings.

    The maka tau was often used as a defending weapon in combat and if thrown correctly, could do real damage and even cause death.
