Kali. Headrest. Kali are wooden pillows or headrests that are placed under the head or nape of the neck whilst sleeping or lying down. There are different types of kali that vary in construction as well as the materials used. This is a kali hahapo, it is carved from one block of toa (ironwood), it is brown in colour and the surface is smooth and polished. The kali curves downwards in the middle and the legs curve outward on either side.
