    Comb (English)

  • Description

    Hetu. Comb. Segments of kāniu (coconut midribs) are cut and arranged, bound together with dark-coloured ovava (banyan tree fibre) to create a hetu with twenty three teeth in total. The hetu is flat and somewhat rectangular in shape, although narrowing at the top of the form. It is brown in colour with a matte surface treatment.
