    Spear (English)

  • Description

    Puapuainano. Spear. Made from two separate pieces of wood. Spear-head is barbed and pointed at the tip. It is carved from a single piece of dark wood. The shaft is carved from a single piece of light-coloured wood. Square butt-end. Two-ply cotton cord forms the lashing at the junction in-between the spear-head and the handle. "VAEPAE VILLAGE AITUTAKI" is written in white ink near the end of the shaft. Good condition overall.
