    brooch, silver and alluvial gold brooch in the form of a blunt ended eucalyptus-type leaf, predominantly 999 silver with two extremely fine layers of 999 gold (alluvial, found at Shotover river, South Island), which have been worked to imitate veins through the technique of drawing and hammering the form from a small block of metal to its present shape.

    With a simple 999 silver pin and clasp riveted to the reverse with 2 gold rivets and a safety device attached to the clasp which holds the closed pin in place.
